Detroit Casinos Generate $101M in June 2025 Despite Yearly Decline

(Detroit).- The Michigan Gaming Control Board announced that MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown generated $101.04 million in total revenue for June 2025.

Detroit’s three commercial casinos—MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown—reported a combined $101.04 million in revenue for June 2025, according to the Michigan Gaming Control Board. . MGM Grand led the market with a 48% share, followed by MotorCity at 31%, and Greektown at 21%.
Slot and Table Game Revenue Drops 4% Year-over-Year
Of the total revenue, $100.38 million came from slot machines and table games, marking a 4.0% decline compared to June 2024 and an 11% drop from May 2025. For the first half of the year, combined slot and table game revenue fell 0.8% year-over-year.

- MotorCity Casino: $30.63 million (↓ 2.7%)

Retail Sports Betting Revenue Sees Steep Decline
Retail sports betting generated $666,374 in gross receipts from a $7.2 million handle. However, qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR) dropped 25.1% year-over-year and 48.1% month-over-month.

The casinos paid $25,153 in state taxes and $30,743 in wagering taxes to the City of Detroit from sports betting operations
